Before you begin
A compatible Mellow build with the relevant capability configured.
Export before editing
Use the configuration export surface to understand the current entity names and model identifiers. Keep credentials out of shared examples.
Plan the smallest change
Change one setting or entity and inspect the resulting plan. An invalid reference should be resolved before applying.
Apply and verify
Approve the intended plan, apply it, then revisit the affected settings and exercise the behavior. A successful plan alone has changed nothing.

Try it with a small task
Ask Mellow to plan a change to one agent’s instructions. Read the proposed difference before approving it.
If it does not work
- An omitted section should not be treated as an instruction to delete it. Prune is a separate destructive option.
- Port, exposure and some runtime controls remain UI-managed; do not assume every setting is declarative.
