Before you begin
A supported Mellow build. Automatic updates require a configured feed.
Choose a coat
Open Appearance & Themes and select a companion coat. Choose a light, dark or system appearance that feels comfortable.
Find what you need
Use settings search to jump to controls. Keep the quick panel close for the actions and statuses available in your installed version.
Check for updates
Use the app’s update controls. If your older build has updates disabled, install an update-enabled release manually from the website.

Try it with a small task
Choose a coat, switch to another screen and return to confirm it remains selected. Check update availability without assuming the website’s demo status is live.
If it does not work
- No update offered: check the installed version and configured update channel/feed.
- Older build has updates disabled: manually install a supported update-enabled build.
Good to know
- The website’s quick panel is a design preview with sample data, not a live view of your Mac.
- Preview releases may still have unfinished feature acceptance. Read the release notes before updating.
